The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) and Institute of Business Administration laid the foundation of ICAP-IBA Research Unit (IIRU) on September 1, 2020. ICAP & IBA-Karachi join hands
- To promote research and development in Pakistan by attracting and retaining outstanding scholars having research interest in the areas relevant to the profession, including finance, accounting, auditing, corporate governance and taxation;
- To create value and impact for relevant stakeholders; and
- To introduce research culture among members and students.
IIRU Research Agenda has been developed to bring together researchers and practitioners to ensure outcomes having impact on policies and practices. Therefore, research proposals that encourage chartered accountants–researcher collaboration and demonstrate that the identified research area is expected to create a significant impact on accounting profession and industry are solicited.
On the Launching ceremony, Mr. Khalilullah Shaikh, President ICAP and Dr. Syed Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director IBA reaffirms institutes’ shared vision of serving public interest and that ICAP-IBA Research Unit (IIRU) is a great step in this direction. ICAP is well represented in global accounting bodies and CAs from Pakistan are proving their mettle across the globe and that the collaboration between the leading university and professional accounting body in the field of research will be beneficial for the research fraternity and Pakistani society.
