The Sothern Regional Committee unanimously elected its new Office Bearers for the term 2026-27



Mr. Bashir Ahmed, ACA

Bashir Ahmed is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) with a distinguished professional background in public sector finance and financial governance. He has contributed to the accounting profession through his service on several ICAP committees, including the Professional Accountants in Business Committee, Education & Training Committee, and Fiscal Law Committees, where he supported policy development, regulatory strengthening, and professional capacity-building initiatives.

He commenced his professional career with one of the Big Four accounting firms in Pakistan, where he developed strong foundations in auditing, financial advisory, and regulatory compliance. His core areas of specialization include Public Financial Management, with particular emphasis on budgeting and fiscal planning, taxation policy, public debt management, and investment strategy.

Currently, he serves as Head of the Debt, Risk & Investment Management Unit in the Finance Department, Government of Balochistan.


Mr. Adeel Ahmad Khan, FCA

Mr. Adeel Ahmad Khan is a Fellow Chartered Accountant with over 24 years of experience in internal audit, compliance, and risk management across the insurance and banking sectors. He currently heads Internal Audit at Jubilee Life Insurance and serves as Secretary to the Board Audit Committee, with extensive exposure to governance frameworks, risk-based audits, and regulatory compliance. His prior experience includes senior leadership roles at HBZ/HMB Bank and Deloitte in internal audit affairs. He has also previously served for more than a decade as an active member of the ICAP Benevolent Fund Committee.


Mr. Akash Mukesh Kumar, ACA

Akash Mukesh Kumar is a Senior Manager in Audit and Assurance in EY with extensive experience in providing independent audit services and ensuring adherence to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards. He is recognized for his strong technical expertise, analytical rigor, and commitment to quality and integrity. Through his association with the SRC ICAP Committee, he contributes to initiatives aimed at professional development, governance, and the advancement of the accounting profession.


Ms. Rizwana Abdul Karim, ACA

Rizwana is an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. She is currently serving as Director Tax Services at KPMG in Pakistan and has over 15 years of professional experience with KPMG, PwC, and EY. She is an active member of ICAP’s Fiscal Law, Economic Advisory, CPD, and CA Women Committees and is also a member of the Karachi Tax Bar Association and in Executive Committee of the CA Toastmasters Club.


Ms. Taha Khan Baqai, FCA

Taha is a Chartered Accountant and a Fellow Member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan. She is currently serving as a Partner – Tax & Legal Services at A.F. Ferguson & Co. (a member firm of PwC network) in Karachi where she is engaged in multiple on shore and off shore projects.

She is an active member of the ICAP and contributes through various initiatives. She has served as a member of the Reforms and Resource Mobilisation Commission by the Federal Minister of Pakistan. She has been recognised by ICAP for her professional contribution and was awarded CA Woman of the year 2023.

She has been seen as a speaker, a panelist and a moderator at various events and TV Shows.


Mr. Rajlain Hassan Qazi, FCA

Rajlain is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) with over 13 years of cross-border experience across Pakistan, New Zealand, and the Middle East. He is a Partner at Virtuous BPO, a Canada-based firm providing finance, technology, and consulting solutions. He leads the Governance, Risk, and Sustainability consulting business, advising organizations on governance, risk management, and internal audit, and helping them design ESG strategy, strengthen reporting, and embed sustainability into financial strategy to drive long-term value. He also leads experiential learning programs, connecting technical rigor with organisational capability and sound decision-making.
